Habitat for Humanity Edmonton works to eliminate barriers to a better, healthier, more financially stable life. With their help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better future for themselves and their families. Habitat Edmonton has been giving a “hand up” to hard working families across northern Alberta since 1991. DynaWest Engineering participated in Habitat’s Adopt-a-Day program. This program was an excellent way to get out of the office for fresh air, exercise and to build bonds with our coworkers. Building with Habitat produces tangible results. Our volunteer team will be able to drive past the home years later and say, “We helped build it!”
Ronald McDonald House Charities® Alberta supports families seeking vital medical treatment for their seriously ill or injured child. Our warm, compassionate Houses provide a home-away-from-home for families who need to travel for medical reasons. When those families are experiencing one of life’s most difficult times – we offer them the gift of togetherness. DynaWest Engineering has volunteered for Ronald McDonald House’s Edmonton Home for Dinner on numerous occasions. The Home for Dinner program is an opportunity for groups to plan a menu, purchase groceries, and prepare a meal for families staying at Ronald McDonald House.
The Edmonton Food Bank is an affiliate member of Food Banks Canada. They are committed to the mantra: Relieving hunger today. Preventing hunger tomorrow. The Edmonton Food Bank envisions a community where hunger does not exist, where all citizens have access to an adequate and nutritious supply of food. Their mission is to be stewards in the collection of surplus and donated food for the effective distribution, free of charge, to people in need in our community while seeking solutions to the causes of hunger. The Edmonton Food Bank’s guiding values of Commitment, Integrity, Service, Innovation, Responsiveness, and Fairness govern the manner in which they work. DynaWest Engineering has volunteered our services to the Edmonton Food Bank by offering our time and assistance in preparing food hampers at one of the Edmonton Warehouse Depots. Our team has also organized internal food donation drives and financial donations for the Edmonton Food Bank.
