Experience Summary:
After his graduate program in Electrical Engineering at the University of Alberta, Buike started his career in the Engineering Consulting Industry where he has learned and acquired various technical and inter-personal skills. He has over 9 years of experience in the industry with two years working in the heavy equipment mining industry in reliability capacity and the rest of the years in the EPC capacity.
During his career in the EPC industry, he has worked on various projects where project sites are across Western, Central and Northwest Territories Regions from the conceptual phase though to the preliminary, detail design and construction phases. He has expertise in and completed different engineering studies, calculations, and designs in providing project deliverables which includes but not limited to heat loss calculations, load flow studies, short circuit studies, arc flash studies, lightning studies, capacitor sizing, RC snubber sizing, lighting etc. He has also completed deliverable drawings spanning single line diagram, wiring diagrams, motor schematic, layout drawings (equipment, power & control, grounding, lighting, etc.), motor control panels, HVAC panels, etc. related to switchgears, MCCs, distribution panels, transformers, generators and other appurtenant in the medium to low electrical distribution systems. Buike has also assisted in specifying instruments based on process flow requirements. In doing so, he has become knowledgeable in preparing loop diagrams, instrumentation index, datasheets, and I/O lists.
Buike had the opportunity to provide reliability and maintenance support in the mine industry working on autonomous haulage trucks. He performed duties such as relevant information gathering on failed components to perform root cause analysis, supported technicians in field to troubleshoot failures, completed daily failure reports, logged daily reliability data, completed monthly reliability reports, assisted in new OEM components’ testing, responded to customer requests in timely fashion, and liaised with other OEMs.
In contributing to providing more sustainable and renewable solutions for clients, Buike has completed LEED training and is a LEED Green Associate. He is getting involved in more project management roles indicative of his keen interest in continuous improvement as well as personal and professional development.
Buike is an energetic individual with great enthusiasm and believes in work life balance. Thus, when he is not working, he enjoys being active outdoors, playing soccer, jogging, dancing, and working out. DynaWest creates such environment and encourages a work life balance.
